Europa League Quarter Final Round-Up Set for Next Week

Europa League’s Quarter Final round-up is finalized after the Wednesday’s Round of 16 ties. The first two fixtures will be played on Monday and the next will be played on Tuesday.

In the first fixture of last night, Wolves beat Olympiacos by 1-0 courtesy of the strike from Raul Jimenez in the 8th minute. Wolves entered into the quarterfinal with the aggregate of 2-1, as they secured a 1-1 draw with Olympiacos in the first leg. 

Basel continued their domination against Frankfurt by winning 2nd leg game by 1-0 with the 88th-minute strike Fabian Frei. They also entered into the next round on the aggregate lead of 4-0 over Frankfurt. 

Serie A club Inter Milan defeated Getafe by 2-0 to move in the next round of Europa League. For the Italian club, Lukaka netted the first goal in the 33rd minute and the German Club couldn’t strike against the tight defense of Milan. In 83rd minute, the strike from Eriksen helped Milan to snatch the Quarterfinal spot from Getafe by 2-0. 

The Spanish club Sevilla also marched into the top 8 after beating Roma in the Round of 16 ties, thanks to the goals from Reguilon in the 21st minute and Nesyri in the 44th minute. 

On Thursday, Leverkusen, Man United, Shakhtar Donetsk and Copenhagen also qualified into the quarterfinal. The next week will witness eight teams who will fight for the last four spots. On Monday, Serie A club Inter Milan will take on Bundesliga club Leverkusen in the first quarterfinal. English Giants Man United will face Copenhagen in the second quarterfinal. 

On Tuesday, Shakhtar Donetsk and Basel will face each other in the 3rd quarter-final. Spanish Club Sevilla will meet Wolves in the last quarterfinal.
