England Announces Squad for South Africa Tour

England & Wales Cricket has announced the squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of South Africa. The tour gets underway with the first T20s on 27 November and finishes on 9 December with the final ODI of the three-match series. Ben Stokes, Jofra Archer, and Sam Curran have been rested from the ODIs. England has named Left-arm seamer Reece Topley in 15-man squads for a tour

Olly Stone, Liam Livingstone, and Lewis Gregory have also been included in the ODI series. These players will fill the spots of Stokes, Archer, and Curran. After playing for Rajasthan, Ben Stokes will travel to New Zealand to see his father, so ECB has dropped the all-rounder. Sam Curran and Archer both had played a hectic tournament in UAE, so Ashley Giles, the director of men’s cricket, gave them a good rest.

After some improving numbers in Blast this season, Joe Root didn’t get his name in the T20 squad along with Chris Woakes. Tom Banton has been added to both squads after a good performance in the home-summer.

Here are the complete squads for the white-ball tour.
