Team Preview
The Three Lions aims to add one more victory in the away fixture against Denmark on Tuesday night in UEFA Nations League. England started their campaign with a 1-0 victory against Iceland on Saturday. Gareth Southgate's side was not in their prime form on Saturday as Kyle Walker received a red card in the 70th minute and time was ticking fast. It was a penalty from Raheem Sterling who guided England to clinch three points and Iceland also missed a penalty of their own in the 93rd minute. In their previous edition of Nations League, England finished third after losing to the Netherlands in the semi-finals of the competition. The victory on Tuesday might propel their chances ahead of the next clash with strong Belgium on October 11 who defeated Denmark in their opening game.
Meanwhile, Denmark are coming off of a 2-0 defeat to Belgium after the strikes from Denayer and Mertens in 9th and 76th minutes. Dens’ main focus is next year’s Euro Championships as they qualified for the tournament, finishing second in Group D behind Switzerland and remained unbeaten from their eight matches. Kasper Hjulmand's side has an upper hand in Copenhagen after some injury concern in the Three Lions squad and two players Foden and Greenwood broke the guidelines so they will miss this match. In UEFA Nations League 2018-19, Denmark won two and drew two of their four group matches to earn promotion to League A. To face Ireland next month, Denmark keen to finish high on England after going down against Belgium.
