Team Preview
The reigning EFL Cup winner City will continue their title defence against Burnley at Turf Moor in the fourth round on Wednesday night. The City are coming off of 5-2 home defeat to Leicester City last weekend. Manchester City have lot of questions from the first three matches of the new season and their defence needs a recheck as they conceded five goals in home game including three penalties. It was the first time in Guardiola's managerial career that his side had conceded five goals. Man City have won English League Cup five times in the last seven seasons and they are ready to make it four in a row this year.
In the third round game, City edged past Bournemouth 2-1, courtesy of Foden’s 75th minute winning strike. Meanwhile, Burnley secured 2-0 victory against Millwall in the last EFL Cup to set round-of-16 ties with City. In last weekend’s Premier League encounter, they lost to Southampton 1-0. Danny Ings’ 5th-minute strike helped Southampton to secure an easy victory. Sean Dyche’s side are up against the titleholder and their best performance came in 2008-09, they made into the semifinal. Man City have lost none of their previous 10 meetings between the two sides in all competitions.
