Borussia Dortmund vs Bayern Munich, Bundesliga 2020-21, Match Prediction

Two German giants are sitting at the top two spots with the same 15 points. Bayern is ahead of Dortmund on goal difference.

Match Timings: Nov 07, 11 PM

Team Preview

Dortmund is entering Der Klassiker with 4-matches winning streak in the Bundesliga; the most recent winning came at Arminia Bielefeld last weekend. The defense will have a big test against the reigning Bundesliga champions and European champion. During the European campaign, Dortmund picked 6 points from the last two matches, keeping the clean-sheet in both after losing to Lazio 3-1 in the opening match.

The hosts have conceded just two goals this season and kept the clean-sheet five times, which is the best defensive record this season. Bayern has scored 24 goals this season from 6 matches, so it would be a game between Dortmund’s defense and Bayern’s attack.

Meanwhile, Bayern was tested by FC Koln last weekend in the 2-1 victory. After a dominating first half, Bayern lost the second half rhythm, and Koln had most possession in the field. They also scored the goal but couldn’t find the equaliser, thanks to Neuer, who saved Tolu Arokodare's free header at the last minute. Bavarians started off their title defense in Champions League 2020-21 with three straight victories over Atletico, Lokomotiv Moscow, and RB Salzburg.

Both sides locked horns in the German Super Cup at the end of September; Bayern ran out as a winner by 3-2. Hansi Flick has won all three matches for Bayern against Dortmund, and Munich conceded just two goals. In home-games, Dortmund has the edge over Bayern as they have won two of their last three meetings. In the previous edition, Bayern secured a 1-0 victory at Iduna Park.
