FC Barcelona is going through big trouble and most recent setback came in Champions League Quarterfinal when Bayern Munich humiliated Spanish Club 8-2. The scoreline of 8-2 was the biggest margin of win in the quarter-final stage of the Champions League. The club has been struggling for a couple of seasons on the European stage. In 2019-20, they lost the La Liga title to Real Madrid and since the resumption, Barcelona suffered from the poor form of their key players.
After sacking the manager Quique Setien, the club is looking for the major changes ahead of the season 2020-21. Lionel Messi who has been a vital part of the Spanish Club for a longer period is also frustrated with the current situation in the club and he believes that he cannot carry the club for next season.
Reportedly, Messi could leave La Liga club when his contract with the club expires in 2021. Reports are claiming that Argentina International wants to leave Barcelona as early as this year itself ahead of the upcoming La Liga 2020-21.
Some football experts also believe that Barcelona needs a transformation to get back on the right track and during this process, if they lose Messi, they should accept it and move on. Philippe Coutinho and Antoine Griezmann put a good show despite losing their position in the lineup which is revolved around Lionel Messi.
Barcelona could start the transformation process and focus on the different game plans to overcome the current frustration. The quad needs to be revamped ahead of the new season and make sure that the squad could not be revolved around one player.
Lionel Messi last won the Champions League in 2015. The 33-year-old player should follow his rival Cristiano Ronaldo who went to Juventus after a successful journey with Real Madrid. He should join a club where he can spend his final years to conclude his fabulous career on a happy note.
