Bangladesh Announce Squad for T20 World Cup

Bangladesh's official cricket board on Thursday announced the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup. A number of significant changes are made to the squad with a major one being experienced fast bowler Rubel Hossain's omission from the squad. He failed to find a place for himself in the official squad but was taken into consideration as a reserved player. 

Bangladesh is placed in Group B alongside Oman, Papua New Guinea, and Scotland and will qualify for the Super 12 stage if they manage to bag a top two finish in their group. The squad will be led by Mahmudullah. 

The announced of Bangladesh for the upcoming T20 World Cup is as follow:

Squad: Mahmudullah (c), Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Kumar Das, Afif Hossain, Mohammad Naim, Nurul Hasan Sohan, Shamim Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Mohammad Saifuddin, Shoriful Islam, Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed.

Reserves: Aminul Islam, Rubel Hossain

The side will play its first match on the opening day of the tournament, October 17, against Scotland.
