Team Preview

After a humiliating defeat to Punjab in Dubai, Bangalore takes on Mumbai in Monday’s encounter in Indian T20 League to fix their errors. Bangalore was completely shattered in all departments. Their poor bowling made Punjab add 74 runs in last 4 overs and easily dropped catches gave KL Rahul to smash their pacers out of the park. In the chase, Bangalore’s batting was exposed. Phillips was promoted and Virat came at number 4 but all the tactics failed badly. Bangalore need a fact check to avoid one more defeat in the season. Morris is recovering from the injury but he is unlikely to play. Management can pick Udana over Styen who had an unimpressive show in death-overs. Siraj can also come back in place of Umesh.

Meanwhile, defending champions bounced back after the defeat to Chennai in the season opener. Mumbai edged past Kolkata in Abu Dhabi and secured 49-runs victory. Rohit Sharma guided the Mumbai innings with scoring 44-balls 80 and Suryakumar’s gritty 28-balls 47 helped him to carry the innings forward. In the chase, Kolkata looked like a dull side and Bumrah put a brilliant bowling display in his first 3-overs. The entire bowling unit was in top form and Mumbai would replicate the same performance against the struggling Bangalore. Mumbai is likely to go ahead with the same playing XI and they are strong favourites to win this affair.

Pitch Report

Dubai International Cricket Stadium is a pure batting track and it also offers plenty of help to bowlers. The middle-overs are crucial as spinner could control the run-rate. Chasing is always an ideal call but any score above 180 put pressure on chasing sides.
