Australia vs England, First T20 International, Match Prediction

England host Australia in the 3-matches T20I series and the first match of the series will start on Friday Southampton.

Match Timing: September 04, 2020 (10:30 PM IST)

Team Preview

The top two T20I sides will square off in the T20 series at Southampton. England who had a positive home summer this year with no series loss is ready to wind up the summer with a tough assignment against Australia, who are already in Southampton from last one week and featured in two intra-squad matches ahead of the series. The top order of the Hosts is in terrific form and they also called up in-form Jos Butler who had great numbers this home season. Jofra Archer is also ready to lead the peace-attack with Mark Wood at Rose Bowl.

England is favourites in home-conditions but nobody can deny Australia who has been outstanding in the last one year and grabbed the number one ranking in the T20I format from Pakistan last year. The Yellow outfit has included three newcomers Riley Meredith, Josh Philippe, and Daniel Sams who had a great home summer in Australia last year (Big Bash League). The Australian side looks better and much balanced with a good combination of pace and spin following the in-form top-order and the middle-order.

Pitch Report

The Rose Bowl, Southampton will host the T20I series and the surface is a batting paradise. Both sides featured in the high-scoring game on this ground. The pace might trouble with the new ball but batsmen will have a final laugh with good batting conditions. A score of 180-200 will be a good total. Chasing would be an ideal call as the batting would be easier the later the match progresses.
