Australia vs England Fifth Test Match Preview

The fifth and the final test between Australia and England will be played at Bellerive Oval in Hobart. The match will take place on Friday, the 14th of January. This will be a pink ball test. Although Australia defeated England in the first three matches, England saved itself from a whitewash as they managed to draw the fourth match. If not a whitewash, Australia would try to end the series with 4-0.

Australia

Australia have already clinched the series. So there will not be much pressure on the team. Though the team's players suffered injuries and covid-19 problems in the series, the team still clinched the series. Not just as a skipper, Cummins also did a great job in bowling, taking 14 wickets in the series. David Warner, Marcus Harris have done well in the top order. In the middle order, the team has Steve Smith, Labuschagne and Usman Khawaja who make their batting order very strong.

England

England's performance in the series has been the opposite of what Australia has displayed. England managed to draw the fourth Test of the series in Sydney after trailing 0-3 in the series. However, it was not easy for them. Only Joe Root scored runs with the bat throughout the series. Whereas Jonny Bairstow, Zak Crawley and Ben Stokes also played good innings in the fourth Test.

Weather Report

The minimum and maximum temperatures at Hobart will be 14 and 20 degrees, respectively. Light rain has been predicted for the first two days of the match in Hobart. However, it will not affect the entire day's play. The weather will be clear for the remaining three days and rain is not expected. So we can expect an exciting Test.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Bellerive Oval, Hobart will allow batsmen to play good strokes, and will make it easier to bat on the surface. This will not help the bowlers much and will make it difficult to take wickets. The average first innings score at the ground in the last 4 matches is 305 runs. Both the teams will be looking to win the toss and bat first.
