Perth Scorchers lost their second match against the Adelaide Strikers on Monday as they fell 15 runs short in the run chase. The target of 199 from 18 overs proved too much for them. Scorchers bowling in the last game was very average. They struggled with the line and length and Strikers’ batsmen smashed them all around the park.
Despite the loss, the form of Josh Inglis and Liam Livingstone was a plus to the side and they will be looking to continue in their home turf.
It has been a bumpy start for Sydney Sixers as well. After their opening victory over Perth Scorchers they have lost their last two matches. Their latest loss came against Brisbane Heat as they came up against an inspired Chris Lynn, who smashed 94 from 35 balls in the 48-run defeat.
Sixers bowlers had an off day in the last game but they will be roaring to bounce back. Their batting, on the other hand, is the main concern. Josh Phillips and James Vince have scored the bulk of runs for the Sixers and apart from them, no other batsman has scored more than 38 total runs across the three games played so far. Sixers will need their batsmen to step up and contribute, if they are to break this two-match losing streak.
