India is touring Australia for the ODI, T20Is and Test series, starting from November 27. Team India have already announced their squad for the tour and now, CA has also announced their squad for the limited-overs series which will be played in Sydney and Canberra, following the COVID-19 restrictions. Aaron Finch will lead the side in both ODIs and T20Is.
Batting allrounder Cameron Green gets maiden callup for Australia in the 18-man squad in both ODI and T20. Green has been consistent in Australia’s domestic circuit and recently, he scored a magnificent 197 in ongoing Sheffield Shield tournament. He is also handy with the ball, picking 5-wickets haul on debut.
Moises Henriques has also been included into the Aussie side. Henriques led his Big Bash side to the title last summer and he returned to Aussie squad after 3 years of gap. Meanwhile, Mitchell Marsh has been left out due to the injury concern. Marsh was part of Australia’s squad in England series and he suffered an injury during the Indian T20 League encounter for Hyderabad. From the winning squad of the England series, Australia dropped Nathan Lyon, Josh Philippe, Riley Meredith and Andrew Tye.
"The entire squad performed exceptionally well in the UK in beating the current one-day World Champions at home and retaining the World No.1 ranking in T20 International cricket. We look forward to a blockbuster summer against one of our greatest rivals," national selector Trevor Hohns stated in a Media release.
Australia starts their home summer on November 27 with the first match of the three ODIs against India. The three-match T20I series starts December 4.
