Afghanistan is one of the top T20I sides that automatically qualified for the upcoming World T20 Cup 2024, to be played next month. Notably, when the team played their first World T20 Cup in 2010, it was also played in the Caribbean Islands. At that time, the team had to qualify for the tournament.
From that point, the team has come a long way as they have been an automatic qualification since the 2021 edition. The Asian side has been slotted in the Group C alongside two-time winners and co-hosts, West Indies, 2021 finalists, New Zealand, second time participants, Papua New Guinea, and debutants, Uganda.
