Last week, Man United denied Man City title celebration after a good comeback win against Aston Villa but they couldn’t continue in their second game. Leicester City edged past Ole’s side 2-1 to assure Man City’s title win. Man City now have 80 points and they are 10 points ahead of Man United. Red Devils now cannot achieve 80 points if they win their remaining three games.
This season has been remarkable for Pep Guardiola’s side. They are already in the final of the Champions League and recently they defeated Tottenham to win the League Cup. It’s City’s third PL Title in four seasons and the seventh top-flight league championship in the club’s history. It’s the ninth league title of Pep Guardiola's managerial career.
Man City were not even in the race for the title since the beginning of the season. Liverpool topped the table at the end of 2020 and Man United claimed the top position in January. Man City were even at the 8th position on Christmas Eve and they grabbed the first position in January 2021 and since then, they didn’t lose this position, thanks to their 15-match long winning streak.
