Detailed Match Report
Priya Punia and Chamari Athapaththu gave a fluent start of 89 off 72 balls. The Sri Lankan skipper scored her maiden half-century in the Indian Women’s T20. Punia scored fine 30 before going out in Salma Khatun’s over. Hamanpreet Kaur joined Athapaththu to cross 100 for Supernovas. With the wicket of Athapaththu after a brilliant 67 off 48 balls, Supernovas collapse dramatically, but they still got 146 on this challenging track. The captain also scored vital 31 off 29 balls to guide Supernovas to an imposing total.
Mandhana and Dottin started the chase on a positive note. Dottin fired with 15-balls 27, and Mandhana scored crucial 33. Selman broke the stand by picking Dottin, and in the same over, Supernovas got Richa Gosh to put Trailblazer on 48/2. The run-rate pressure troubled their chase, and two more wickets in middle-overs made the equation more complicated. In the last 5 overs, they required 56 runs. Deepti Sharma took charge along with Harleen Deol. The duo added quick 52 runs for the 5th wicket. In the final over, Trailblazers required 10 runs, and they fell short of two runs, following a great catch on 5th delivery by Anuja Patil. With Supernovas’ victory, Velocity has been knocked out.
