Hyderabad and Chennai play each other in their second leg game on Tuesday in Indian T20 League 2020.
Match Timings: Oct 13, 7:30 PM
Team Preview
Relentless Chennai starts their second leg matches after a disappointing start in the first half of the season. Chennai won just two matches out of seven and they had never seen such poor show, except 2010 when they ended up as a winner in the end. 2020 cannot be the same as 2010 because Chennai’s unit is not delivering collectively and the experience is now giving them a scare. In the previous game, Jagadeesan impressed and he will get more games this season. Rayudu played a good knock but Chennai requires an acceleration in flag-overs. In most of the chases, they made things tougher for them after a slow run-rate in middle-overs. Considering the spin, Dhoni might go with Tahir or we may expect a change in the pace attack.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad slipped at the end in the previous game to give Rajasthan 5-wickets win after Tewatia-Parag show in Dubai. Picking 3 wickets in the powerplay, they took control of the game but in death-overs, their bowlers let them down and Hyderabad failed to get two easy points. The top-order is in solid form and the middle-order is mentored by Kane Williamson. Natarajan and Khaleel are also impressive in pace. Rashid Khan is their prime spinner and in current conditions, he is a dangerous man. They need to avoid silly mistakes in the end and somehow, 5th bowling option is still a worrying sign. Vijay Shankar was quite effective but Warner needs to go back to Samad who has quality spin. On such conditions, Rashid needs a spin partner to fill that vacuum in middle-overs.
Pitch Report
Dubai’s track is a decent T20 surface. It offers plenty of help to spin and pacers can get help with the new ball. Chasing is a bit tricky despite Rajasthan’s heroics. Any score above 165 is a competitive total on this surface.
