Trinbago Knight Riders will take on defending champions Barbados Tridents in the Sunday fixture of the Caribbean Premier League.
Team Preview
Two most successful sides of the Caribbean Premier League will lock horns in the first Sunday tie of the tournament. Trinbago made a fabulous start to their quest of title glory, winning both games comprehensively. In the first game, they chased down 145 in 17-overs riding on Narine’s 28-balls 50. In the second fixture against Tallawahs, Trinbago was more dominating, winning by 7 wickets. Narine has been incredible in both games as he scored two half-centuries and picked 3 wickets. Colin Munro also got fifty in the previous match to give Trinbago a smile.
Knight Riders are great on paper and they are the compact in both departments. Meanwhile, the defending champions are coming off an unexpected defeat in the rainy affair against St Lucia. Barbados made a good start by pulling off a 6-runs victory against Patriots on opening day. Against St Lucia, Barbados was heading towards an imposing total of 150 before rain playing a spoilsport. Zouks required just 47 off 5 overs after the rains and Nabi smashed Rashid Khan in final over to snatch vital 2-points from Tridents. It could be a cracking game of T20 as both sides have strong lineups. Trinbago might take the home advantage.
Pitch Report
Brian Lara Stadium will host this match and the surface has troubled batsmen with its slow behavior in the last week. Spinners would have an advantage. Chasing will be a tricky call so batting first would be an ideal call after winning the toss. Any score above 150 is a strong total to defend.
