The second-placed Sydney Sixers will clash with third-placed Adelaide Strikers on January 5, 2020. Sydney Sixers have got off to a great start in this year’s Australia T20 League. The Henriques-led side, who have now won four out of their six matches, are looking a well-balanced team. They are coming off a good win against the Renegades.
James Vince and Jordan Silk were the stars with the bat in the last game as they propelled Sixers to a six-wicket win. But it was too close for comfort for the Sixers. Chasing a modest target of 154, Sixers set off nicely but a middle order collapse set the cat free among the pigeons before Vince and Silk got them over the line. Sixers would expect their middle-order to play sensibly against Strikers’ threatening bowling line up.
Adelaide Strikers too are having a good tournament thus far, winning three out of their four completed matches. However, they suffered their first defeat in their last match. Strikers were handed a three runs defeat in a last ball thriller against the Sydney Thunder. Chasing a competitive target of 169, Strikers were off to a horrendous start as they were reduced to 3 for 38 in the first six. Although Jake Weatherald (52) and later Rashid (40) caused some scare in Thunder’s camp but they fell short in the last ball. Strikers will be eager to bounce back from this defeat and would hope to shift back to their winning ways.
