English Cricketer, an all-rounder, and a socialist, Moeen Ali, who recently stepped away from Test cricket, left his fans in shock and wonder. He has been a fantastic cricketer as he has played all formats of cricket and is best known for his off-break bowling. On Wednesday, Moeen wrote in a column of ‘The Guardian’ about his journey in the Test cricket and announced his break from the Test format ahead of the England-South Africa series.
He mentioned in his column, "Last week there were conversations about whether I felt ready to return for the South Africa tour and naturally part of me was keen to get back out there. My record against them is pretty good and as a team we have happy memories of winning there four years ago".

Moeen Ali’s debut in the International Test cricket was against Sri Lanka in 2014, where he gave an unbelievable performance in the second test and scored a century.
In the same year, Ali’s performance against India proved to be record-breaking as he took his five-wicket haul in test cricket during the third match of the tournament. In the fourth test of the series, Ali took 4/39 and helped England win the series by 2-1.
Ali added, “The time away has felt quite liberating. Since my international debut in 2014 the miles on the clock have probably crept up and Test cricket is the level where the pressure and scrutiny are greatest.”.
“Playing 60 Tests has meant so much to me, especially picking up 181 wickets and five five-wicket hauls, which for a guy who grew up thinking as a batter first is something I never thought possible.” Ali shared his experience in his column.
Moeen Ali had struggled all his life to make his career in international cricket and play for England. He played various country cricket tournaments and enhanced his performance since childhood before he could enter the England cricket team.
At the age of 15, Ali signed for Warwickshire (a country in the midlands of England) and scored a fifty and amazed the audience. Next big opportunity for Ali in his teenage career was U-19 Cricket World Cup and was named the captain of his team. Besides these feats, he was also a part of Bengaluru team in Indian T20 league.
