Haryana Steelers made their debut in the 2017 season of the Pro Kabaddi League and managed to go into the playoffs, thanks to defender Surender Nada in the left corner and their variety of options in raiding, but the team was eliminated in the knockout stages following a loss against the Patna Pirates.
Moreover, in season 6 they didn’t even qualify for the play offs as they ended the previous season with just six wins from their 22 matches. So, eyeing to make a strong comeback this season, the Steelers team management has done some changes in the team.
This time they have retained Vikas Khandola along with defender Kuldeep Singh, right corner Sunil and cover defender, Praveen. Despite this, the addition of Dharamraj Cheralathan, Vikas Kale and Ravi Kumar will give the defense department good confidence. The experience of the defender, Dharamraj Cheralathan as a leader will be a boost for them, something which they lacked in the last season. Dharmaraj captained the winning team, Indian Railways at the 66th Senior National Kabaddi Championship, so his experience as a captain will be pivotal of Haryana Steelers this year.
Apart from this, Tim Phonchoo is the only notable all-rounder in Haryana Steelers' squad, but he didn’t have much experience. This might be a major concerning issue for the team this year.
