For the third time in the history of the World T20 Cup, Oman will participate in the tournament. For the ongoing 2024 edition, Oman squad has been named. They previously played in the 2016 and 2021 editions respectively. The Asian side qualified for the tournament after winning the final of World T20 Cup Asia qualifier, beating Nepal.
Both Oman and Nepal have qualified although they have been put in different groups. Oman is in the Group B with former champions, Australia, two-time winners and defending champions, England, two-time participants, Namibia, and debutants, Uganda.

For the first time, Ilyas will lead the team in the tournament. In the 2021 edition, the team was led by Maqsood. A few months back, the captaincy was changed. J. Singh, who used to open the batting, is now part of the traveling reserves, who won’t be part of the team for selection.
He and other reserve players can only be selected after consultation with the Apex Council. Most of the players who were part of the 2021 team will represent their national side once again.
