Skipper Faf du Plessis is leading from the front this season. In his first match, du Plessis hit 88 runs off just 57 runs. Middle-order is an area of concern for the side as Virat Kohli has struggled and the team would want him to add runs with Sherfane Rutherford. However, now that Australian Glenn Maxwell is back into the mix, the batting lineup of Bangalore is expected to cause havoc in the upcoming matches.
Mumbai
The five-time title winners are yet to register their first win in the Indian T20 League. Currently, Mumbai is on the number nine spot on the points table. Rohit Sharma’s off-key performance in the previous matches has been a matter of concern for the Mumbai fans. However, Ishan Kishan has been performing consistently with his bat. Suryakumar Yadav also joined the party in the last match where he scored 52 runs off just 36 balls.
The middle order of the team is a major concern. Kieron Pollard has yet to deliver a decent performance in the season. Mumbai has to come up with new foolproof strategies if they want to move forward in the tournament.
