Afghanistan vs Scotland Match Preview

Afghanistan is set to start their World T20 Cup campaign against Scotland on Monday, the 25th of October. The match will be played in the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Both the teams are emerging from the group stages, after being victorious.

Afghanistan's team

Afghanistan played two warm-up matches, which had polar results. They lost the first match against South Africa by a huge margin of 41 runs but dominated the West Indies completely in the second match and won the match by 56 runs. The situation in Sharjah is very good for Afghanistan and it will be very difficult to compete with spinners like Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi. This is where Afghanistan has a big advantage over Scotland.

Scotland's team

Scotland has performed well in the World T20 Cup 2021 so far. They did not play any warm-up match, but played three matches in the qualifiers and won all three of them. The most impressive part of Scotland's team has been its bowling. Josh Davey is the leading wicket-taker with 8 wickets, apart from Chris Greaves, Brad Wheal and Mark Watt have also done very well. We have no doubt that Scotland can bowl well and give Afghanistan a tough fight.

Weather Report

The maximum and minimum temperatures at Sharjah will be 34 and 25 degrees respectively. Humidity will be around 62 percent with very less chances of precipitation.

Pitch Report

Sharjah's pitch is the slowest in UAE, on which batting is not going to be easy. However, the pitch helps the spinners and they will dominate the match. Any score beyond 140 will be a challenging one. After winning the toss, the teams can decide to bowl first.
