Pak T20 League 2021 Set to Resume from June 09

After whole speculation and drama from PCB, the date of the Pak T20 League has been finalised. The sixth edition of the tournament will resume in Abu Dhabi from June 09 with covid protocols. The schedule will be changed as six double-headers will now take place to wrap up this tournament early. The final of the season will be played on June 24. It means the Pak team will take the flight to England on June 25.

The afternoon game will start at 5 PM Abu Dhabi time and the evening matches will start at 8 PM local time. There was some rumors that PCB found no idea to start it with so many restrictions. Approvals from the Abu Dhabi governments were pending. Meanwhile, the Pakistan team were also supposed to travel to England for a white-ball series. It was a tough call from PCB to complete the tournament in the selected window.

All six teams will practice from June 3 to 8. The first match will be played between Islamabad and Lahore. The doubleheader games are scheduled to be held on June 10, 13, 15, 17, 19, and 21.

"There was a consensus between the PCB and the franchises that it was imperative to complete the remaining matches in 2021 so that we have a clean 2022 for HBL PSL 7. Now, after overcoming all obstacles through due diligence and careful planning, I believe we have collectively achieved the desired objective that was set in March following the postponement,” PCB chief Wasim Khan said.
