Second Innings (Chennai 173/3)
Chennai made a fluent start and both openers looked solid in the powerplay. Warner looked clueless in the field and he tried Rashid early but he failed to pick a wicket in his first spell. Plessis and Gaikwad both completed their half-centuries. Chennai crossed 100 without loss and the required-run rate reduced to 6 runs per over. Rashid provided the breakthrough with the wicket of Gaikwad who scored 75. Plessis crossed Dhawan to take the orange cap. In his final over, Rashid got Plessis and Moeen Ali to end the figure with three for 36. His effort was delayed as the match slipped from Hyderabad. Chennai avoided any late drama in the end and chased down the total with 7 wickets in hand. With this win, Chennai moved to the first spot in the table and Hyderabad suffered their 6th defeat of the season.
