First Innings (Mumbai 152 all-out)
De Kock replaced Chris Lynn for Mumbai and it was the only change in both sides. Chakravarthy bagged De Kock’s wicket in his first over. Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma constructed the innings with a steady approach. Shakib broke the 72-run partnership with the wicket of Surya who scored 56 off 36 balls. In the next over, Pat Cummins picked Ishan Kishan and Mumbai formed a mini-collapse there. Rohit Sharma played pretty slow and got out after 32-ball 43. From 123/4, Mumbai were bowled out on 152 and Russell claimed his maiden fifer in Indian T20 League. Pat Cummins picked two for 24.
Second Innings (Kolkata 142/7)
Kolkata’s openers added yet another half-century stand and Rahul Chahar broke the partnership with the wicket of Shubhman Gill who scored 33. Nitish Rana continued his top-form and scored a consecutive half-century. Rahul Chahar fought for Mumbai with two more wickets as he picked Rahul Tripathi and Morgan in single digits. He claimed his 4th wicket with an important scalp of Nitish Rana. Shakib also threw his wicket and Krunal and Bumrah's tight overs put Mumbai on the top position. Kolkata required 15 off Boult's final over and Kolkata failed to cross the line.
