Team India suffered a big blow to the Test series as pacer Ishant Sharma has been officially ruled out of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2020-21. Rohit Sharma is still recovering from the hamstring injury, and he is already out of the first TWO tests. His availability for the tour is still in doubt.
According to the reports, Ishant has recovered from the injury, but he is not ready to prove the test match's fitness. To fulfill the Test fitness, he requires to bowl at least 15 overs a day, which looks like a tough task for the pacer. Board will make the clarity on Rohit’s injury soon. Earlier, captain Kohli also spoke on Rohit’s injury, and he clearly stated that he has no clear information about Rohit Sharma’s recovery.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu pacer T Natarajan has been picked as the backup pacer in place of injured Navdeep Saini. Natarajan was initially included as one of the reserves for the series, but he made his name in the T20 squad after Varun Chakravarthy’s injury, and now, he earned the ODI callup. India and Australia will kick start the ODI series from November 27 in Sydney, and we might see Natarajan making his international debut on Friday.
