Detailed Match Report
On a used surface, Mithali decided to bat first, and Shefali gave a fluent start by adding 16 in the first two along with Wyatt. The experienced Jhulan Goswami bowled Shefali on 13 to give Velocity the first blow. In the 4th over, English pacer Ecclestone bowled a double-wicket maiden to pick Mithali and Veda on successive deliveries. Wyatt’s poor form with the bat continued as Jhulan scalped her in the next over. The horror show didn’t stop here as Ecclestone picked another to complete her 3-wicket haul, and Velocity ended the powerplay on 22/5. In the 9th over, Gayakwad picked two wickets on two balls to shatter all the hopes for Velocity as Mithali’s unit slipped to 27/7 in 10 overs. The regular wickets hurt Velocity, and Trailblazers bowled them out on just 47, which is the lowest total in this tournament.
The chase was a cake-walk for the Trailblazers. Mandhana was off the colors, and Kasperek grabbed her in 4th over. Velocity tried to put some pressure, but Dottin single handily charged Trailblazers to a comfortable 9-wickets victory. Richa Ghosh smashed a fine six at deep mid-wicket to seal the game. With this huge-win, Velocity is in the danger zone. They would aim for Supernovas’ loss to earn the qualification for the final. Meanwhile, the Trailblazers need to avoid a big defeat to qualify for the final, even in the losing scenario.
