Australia Women will conclude their international assignment of this year on Wednesday with the final ODI fixture with New Zealand. After winning the T20I series 2-1, Australia continued their dominance in ODIs by winning both matches to seal the series. In the previous outing, New Zealand improved their game and gave a tough show to the hosts. Australia prefered to chase and Kiwi openers put a 75-runs stand for the opening wicket prior to the 93-runs stand for the 2nd wicket. Sophie Devine and Satterwhite both scored half-centuries. New Zealand collapsed in flag-overs to post 252. In the chase, Australia looked confident as Rachael Haynes scored 82 off 89 balls and the captain Meg Lanning scored a fine century to lead hosts to a 4-wickets victory. Defeating Aussies at home isn’t an easy task for any side but Devine would be happy with the improved game on Monday. New Zealand requires enough support from the bowling unit who failed to get breakthroughs in middle-overs. Ahead of the Women’s Big Bash, both sides would take this game as the preparation. Bench strength can also take a game on Wednesday as the series is already decided.
