After playing a thrilling Premier League game four days ago, Brighton & Hove Albion and Manchester United back to Amex Stadium to set an EFL Cup fourth-round clash on Wednesday night. Last week PL tie between two sides ended in a tight and dramatic finish as United ran out 3-2 winners to add 3 points. The battle is same but the fight is in the round of 16 in the EFL Cup. Brighton had more shots than the United but the Red Devils converted into thrice. In the injury time, United got a penalty and Bruno Fernandes netted a winning goal to seal the victory for the Old Trafford.
Manchester United’s start in the Premier League was disappointing as they suffered 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace. They got a confidence-boosting win in the EFL Cup game agaisnt Luton 3-0. Meanwhile, Graham Potter’s side had mixed feelings as after losing the opening game to Chelsea 3-1, they defeated Newcastle United 3-0 to draw first blood in the season. In last EFL Cup ties, Seagulls defeated Preston 2-0 to enter into the next round. Ole Solskjaer’s side is now unbeaten in their previous 15 away games across all competitions.
