Team Preview
The new season of Ligue 1 2020-21 has been started and both Reims and Lille had started their campaign for the new season. Reims will host Lille in the Sunday encounter after playing a 2-2 draw at Monaco. David Guion's men dropped two points in the last Sunday encounter after taking a 2-0 lead in the first half. In the 5th minute, Boulaye Dia netted the first goal for Reims and in the 21st minute, Bilal Toure scored the second goal to make it 2-0 but the Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile survived a defeat for Monaco and visitors walk away with just one point. Guion’s side is pretty strong at home after suffering one defeat from their last ten matches and they had only two defeats at home during the entire 2019-20 season.
Meanwhile, the fellow Europa League contenders Lille are also coming off of a 1-1 draw to Rennes. Lille also had a similar story as they couldn’t capitalise the 1-0 lead, given by Jonathan Bamba in the 40th minute. Rennes scored the equalizer through captain Damien Da Silva in 74th minute. The match also saw two red cards as both sides played with 10 players in the second half. Christophe Galtier would hope to break the fort of Reims on Sunday as they had good numbers in away fixtures. Galtier’s men had emerged victorious in its last three away games of the season 2019-20.
