Bayern Munich’s successive run continues and the Bundesliga Champion is getting close to 6th European title. Bayern defeated French Club Lyon 3-0 in the semifinal to make their way to their 11th UEFA Champions League final appearance. It was a comfortable win for Bavarians on Thursday Night.
Hansi Flick's side strike in the 18th minute as Serge Gnarby netted a goal with the assist by Joshua Kimmich. The Bayern winger put a scintillating display and strike one more time after 13 minutes to give Munich a 2-0 lead in the first half only. Serge Gnabry is only the second German player to score twice in a Champions League semi-final, following his teammate Thomas Müller who scored a brace in 2012-13.

In the 4th minute of the game, Lyon captain Depay was put through clean on goal and he failed to deliver. The Dutchman made 0 dribbles and lost possession 7 times which was the big reason for Lyon’s defeat. Going into the second half, Lyon needed a turnaround and a different strategy to get back into the game but Bayern’s defense was up to the mark. Houssem Aouar put a valiant effort to push Lyon ahead in the game and the 22-year-old created an opportunity against the top side. The Frenchman managed to complete 21 passes, 4 dribbles, and create 2 chances.
The clock was ticking and the game was going to wind up, the top scorer of the league, Robert Lewandowski scored the third goal for Bayern Munich through a bullet header. It was the 9th consecutive times, the German player scored at least one goal and Robert Lewandowski has become only the second player to score 15+ Champions League goals in a single campaign after Cristiano Ronaldo.
With scoring the 40th goal in the league, Bayern is only the fourth team in Champions League history to reach 40 goals in a single campaign, along with Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Liverpool. Bayern Munich will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the final to add one more glory to his successful campaign.
