After two back to back wins, team India will aim to claim the series in the third T20I at Seddon Park, Hamilton. India took a 2-0 lead on Sunday thanks to their commanding victory over the hosts at Eden Park. New Zealand failed to perform with the bat in the second T20I and suffered second consecutive defeat in the five-match series.
In the second T20I, none of the Kiwi batsmen was able to accelerate and the team managed to score a paltry score of 132. Bowlers did try to put pressure with the ball but KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer chased it down with ease towards the end. New Zealand will have to switch things up to keep the series alive.
India, on the other hand, were dominant with the ball as they denied Kiwis with any momentum. Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja were the pick of the bowlers as their economical bowling restricted the hosts on a below par score.
With the bat, KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer carried on where they left off in the first game with scores of 57* and 44 respectively. India is likely to play with the same side for the third game and would look to wrap up the series.
Team Combination
India
Skipper Virat Kohli would not want to tinker with the winning combination and would look to stick with the same playing XI. Rohit Sharma, who is yet to get big innings on this tour will be eager to contribute with a big score.
