2020 – Year that will witness another leg of much anticipated athletic tournament, i.e. Olympics. This time the competition will take place in Tokyo which will kick start from July 24, 2020 and end on August 9, 2020. In previous Olympic games, many Indian athletes like Abhishek Gogoi, Manali Manoj Shelke, Hima Das have raised the Indian flag high by winning Gold. Like previous years, Indian citizens will be expecting the athletes to gain more number of gold medals in upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Hima Das

Famously known as ‘Dhing Express’ Hima Das is an Indian sprint runner from Assam. She is one of favorable claimant to bag a gold in upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympics. 19-year-old young girl won four gold medals in less than a month, on 21st July 2019 she got her 5th gold in a 400m race in the Czech Republic. The golden girl who bought glory to home received congratulations from eminent personalities like Narendra Modi, Ramnath Kovind, Sachin Tendulkar and many more. 

Manu Bhaker    

Born and bought up in Jhajjar district of Haryana, Manu Bhaker is an Indian sport shooter. Her achievements in the recent past make her a strong contender to bring pride to the country in 2020 Tokyo Olympics. In 2018 commonwealth games, she won the gold medal in women's 10 m air pistol event, and it was her maiden appearance in the commonwealth games. Apart from this, the young girl also bagged two gold at the 2018 ISSF World Cup and the first female athlete from India who grabbed a gold medal at the Youth Olympics Games.

Neeraj Chopra

Haryana born Indian athlete, Neeraj Chopra who competes in a javelin throw made the country proud after winning a gold medal in 2018 Asian games. For his exceptional performances in 2018, he is among the top medals contender for India in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics 2020. 

He won the first gold medal in 2016 IAAF World U20 Championship in Poland, and his hunger for success didn’t stop here, later in 2017 Asian Athletic Championship, another gold medal was added in his account.   

But, the best phase of his life came in 2018 Commonwealth games, when Haryana boy received a lot of fame when he won a gold medal in men’s javelin throw category of 2018 commonwealth games. The victory was exceptional as he became the first Indian to get a medal in Commonwealth games history. 

PV Sindhu

Renowned Indian professional badminton player, PV Sindhu name always gets into the headlines due to her brilliant performances. Recently, in 2019 World Championship held at Switzerland, she became the first Indian to return home with World Champion tag in badminton. Sindhu started his career at the age of 17, since then her performance graph has gone up. Except 2015, Sindhu won a medal at every World Championships. 

In 2016 Rio Olympics, the Indian superstar grabbed the silver medal. So, this time, she will have an eye to grab the gold and accomplish the unfinished task which she failed in 2016. Her remarkable performances in the different World Championships will be confidence booster for her in the upcoming Olympics. 

Bajrang Punia 

From Haryana born young boy to getting Padma Shree award, the journey of Bajrang Punia has been amazing and remarkable. He started his career as a freestyle wrestler, and in 2014 Commonwealth games he won Silver medal in men’s freestyle 61 kg category. However, he waited for long to get first gold medal of his career. In Asian Wrestling Championship 2017 held at Delhi, he achieved this feat. While his second goal came at 2018 commonwealth games in Australia. 

His performance index has been going up since his debut, and for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics he is also a great contender to return to country with gold in his neck.
